God bless you for you blog. It is very informative. You have tourned round the way I view humour writing. I used to think that you are either humourous or not. But you have shown me that anyone can learn humour. Also that it is an art that can be mastered, not just a natural talent that you’re born with. I have loved Barry since 1980 and have been to hundreds of concerts. What a man, what a performer. I have seen many live shows in my lifetime (now 61) and Barry is the ultimae performer, I just love him!!

Every time I have seen Barry perform, he is always lively, witty and personable. I didn’t leave out talented. That was a given. He always connects with the audience and makes everyone feel that he is there just for them. There has never been or will be anyone like him. Long live Barry Manilow!!!!

I grew up listening to Barry Manilow’s songs! My aunt had a wide collection of his tapes and we took time to watch his shows on TV.

He is truly the entertainer! Not only does he sing well, he also interacts splendidly with the audience.

Agree completley. Amazing how much the “old” performers engage their audience. I know I am getting old when I say the youngsters could learn a lot. Amazing how times have changed…Elvis, Bassey, Sinatra,Turner etc all saw their role as entertaining and engaging. The business world can learn alot from the presence on stage. Great post and insight.
